Default IV Steroids--Finally!

Yep I'm ready for them, keep 'em coming!

I saw my neuro last week and we talked about my ON and left eye pain, blurry vision, and focusing. He said it could take six months to go away in its own, but the steroids should hurry things along. I promptly agreed, said at this point I would welcome them. Three-day course, beginning tomorrow.

He looked shocked when I told him that I had taken a 2-week break from my Betaseron. I explained to him that I was feeling lousy with my eye and everything else that's been going on with the MS crud.

I went back on Beta this past Thursday, but now DH is giving me the injections. The last one I did was in my right arm, and I cut myself with the needle while drawing it out because my hand jerked. My hands are just too uncoordinated and unsteady to do injections anymore. DH can't stand the sight of needles. He doesn't have to see the needle with the Autoject so he can do it, and he's pretty good at it.

Sometimes you just can't face that needle. I understand that. A very wise person once told me that "everyone takes medication breaks." So maybe some don't do it physically, but mentally instead. In any case, there's a time when you just need a break from it all and even a little bit will help.

Good luck with the 'roids! I hope they help you a lot and fast!

Crud sucks. Feel better.

I have a love hate relationship with the IVSM... the love wins out every time.

I hope you feel much better after them!
