Frown The camera dilemma...

I ordered a camera online...it was next day delivery which means where I live it is two days.lol I didn't receive it when expected so I called and the guy told me he would reverse the shipping as a courtesy.

Today I received two boxes opened each one and I now have two cameras...both with same invoice sticker...Identical...same tracking, etc.

I told family that I received two and was calling tomorrow to find out how to send one back. I can't take it back to the store.

Everyone of them said...keep it,not your screwup. My sister works for a luggage company a very expensive luggage company. Their policy is if a bag more expensive is shipped their fault or if customers leave jewelry what ever in it...they are not obligated to contact the customer.

I have bought things from this company before and when something happens it is either they no longer carry it or they are not responsible for repairing the item. This has cost me money previously and this is why family is telling me...don't worry about it, you got enough to worry with.

So lets hear your opinion...not what you might do...but what you would do if this really happened to you. I have a headache from just dealing with this today...and my grandson has to stay with me tomorrow...and my sister just called. Her kitty may have a broken leg...she has a bone sticking out...

Merry Bells, and Christmas cheer
I'm so glad you're all here!!

I would call the company and ask them to send you a merchandise return label so that you can return it to them. Then the ball's in their court. They may say, "No, we goofed up, you keep them both."

Regardless of the advice you received, I think you would have trouble rationalizing keeping the "extra" without your conscience ragging on you after a while.

I couldn't keep the second one Momma, my conscience wouldn't let me.

I'd phone the company that posted them out and let them know what's happened, and ask for a return address.

Lightbulb my opinion...

I would call the company and explain the error.

If they tell you to keep the camera, then do.

But I suspect they will want it back. Have them send you
a return label.

L.L.Bean made a mistake one December and sent my husband
a second coat. He sent it back.

I think it is always best to be fair and honest in life.

I would just set it aside in the box{ in a secure place} until after the holidays and then worry about dealing with it.
Then I'd contact them and tell what happened and see what they say.

But if they want it back they send the free return shipping label.

my parents received a Riddex? pest thing somehow - their name and address. But they didn't order it and it wasn't charged to their card..
They called the place and told them they didn't order anything and they were told to keep it.. It was only 25.00 I think.
I guess not worth the company messing with.

But they just have it setting aside for now til someone needs one

...we ordered a very expensive vacuum once, and got two of them somehow. The company's mistake. They paid for us to have it shipped back, and we got a free gift *grin
What goes around, comes around!
I also agree that it might be better to wait till after the holidays, after all, it wasn't you mistake...
