Default People, pellet guns and animals...meet Sugar.

This is Sugar, my sister's kitty. This is her right front leg...see the small hole with all those white fragments? That's her bone after someone shot her with a pellet gun. It could have been a kid or even an adult, unfortunately we don't know.

We do know, my sister is going to have a huge vet bill she can't really afford, and Sugar does have pain. She hasn't made a sound from being hurt, her leg is in a splint, the bandage changed everyday. Hopefully two weeks from now the wound will be healed and she will have a cast. Then starts the healing of the bone, only problem, there's a hole and it takes several weeks or even months for it to mend itself.

So..if you think its funny to shoot at any animal...call me. If you think its ok to give a child a 'toy' gun and not teach them how to use it...call me.
Maybe if you believe in reincarnation...you can come back as an animal...somebody might just take a pot shot at you...

I'm really angry about this...kids can be charged for cruelty to animals and that incident usually indicates future problems, left checked.

Adults can have the crap beaten out of them by humans like my BIL, my sister, etc.

Awww, poor kitty....I hate it when an animal is injured like this. There have been stories in the news lately of cruelty to animals and I just don't understand it. There are some sick people out there. I don't know if you get local Atlanta news down there, Momma, but did you hear about the dog Murphy that was found by someone after being beaten with a sledge hammer? He survived and was adopted by this kind man.....but the man who did this awful thing said he thought someone had poisoned the dog and he was trying to put it out of it's misery. Yeah.....okay..... There's a special place in he!! for these people.

I hope Sugar makes a full recovery......she's a very lucky kitty to have you to take care of her. I'm praying for her.

Frank...she got out of the splint this morning at 1am...lol
Kelly...I heard a short story on the news about that.

She still jumps up on things so I put her in a spare room with food and water on her pet carrier at the foot of the bed so she won't have to jump.
I told my sister if she got out of the splint this time...I was calling her Houdini.

I think it wasn't wrapped high enough...but she seems to be doing fine.
I have found stray animals and taken them to the local shelter...then I tell them if they don't find a home let me know. I have taken a few and then gone back and picked them up to take to the owners...cause the broke out of prison.lol

I will keep a stray and call the shelter, let them know just in case someone is looking for it. I am probably going to have stop doing that...I have two dogs and one cat.
This is Coconut...he's brown, tan and white

Oh she's a green eyed baby. The poor, poor thing. There's a guy in our neighborhood that used to shoot cats with BB guns. He thinks cats are evil. If I ever see him doing it, I'm going to make him want to move, lol.

When I taught Emotionally Disturbed children, any cruelty or animal killing always raised a big red flag to us. That's were serial killers start, psychotics do it, poorly wrapped people (kids or grownups), sickos.

Yep...it was something as a Mental Health/Substance Abuse case worker with juveniles I heard a lot. Try telling that to parents of those kids however and you're the bad guy.

I had a case where as a 4 yr old...he set an animal on fire...as an 8 yr old he stabbed his mother with a pair of scissors. She said he was just being a kid at four...I point blank asked her if she thought he was still being a kid when he stabbed her. Inbetween he was in trouble constantly at school and had three charges...then stabbed her.

We probably will not find out who did this unless one of the kids in the neighborhood says something, if anyone does know anything.

Frank...I had one lil bulldog growing up. He had to be put to sleep because he would attack anyone that came near me or if he heard me cry. My uncle gave me that dog when I was five and we only kept him for a few months.

I still vaguely remember the police coming and putting him in the car...this was after he leaped through a screen door after my brother. He thought my brother bloodied my face, but I actually fell down the concrete steps to our house.

I made up for lost time though.lol

Oh, that poor baby! Sounds like she's on the mend, but to have to go thru all that pain (not to mention expense) for no good reason..It makes me so angry that people can do that. There's a golden retriever in the news that was shot once in the neck and once in the stomach and left by the side of the road to die. Fortunately someone found her and brought her to the vet..So far, she's doing OK ~ each day after surgery she survives increases her chances of making it thru this..There have been hundreds of people calling wanting to adopt her (they call her Orphan Annie)..My first reaction to this sort of thing is that people who do this to animals should be taken out of the gene pool..Then I calm down, and think shootin' them in the leg & leaving them out in the cold for a day or two would be enough...
