Adorable!

I can't wait until we move out of this townhouse. The kids want a dog so bad. 6 months and counting.

Oh my gosh they are absolutely gorgeous, and worth more than the price of a fur coat!

The *Gurlz* are both 8 yrs old. Their prior owner had to go into a nursing home due to alzheimers. So sad... So we adopted Holly, and the rescue people asked if there was any way we'd consider Millie too. I already had 2 dogs, so I said I'd ask dh.

But 4 dogs? I could just see me trying to walk all of them.

.

Holly had a perfect record - good with kids, other pets, walks nice, everything. So I figured she'd be fine.

Millie had every naughty thing going on you could think of. She was okay with Holly, but not so good with other pets, NO kids, red check for MEAN, lol, just had surgery, almost 15 lbs, does not groom does not walk on leash.

Yet when we went to the adoptathon and saw both of them in the cage, we were drawn to Millie, and I asked the rescue lady if they still needed a home for her. She said someone was going to take her for a two week trial to see if sh would work out.

I said if it didn't work out, to give me a call.

It was a good Christmas, because we had Holly and we knew Millie had a home.

The day after Christmas we got a call that Millie was returned to the rescue, and they asked if we were still interested.

When I brought her home, she went right past Holly, then they looked at each other and sniffed. Millie looked at me like she was mad - "What are you trying to pull, passing that dog off as my Holly?" She had to circle and sniff a few times before she believed it was really her buddy.

They had been through a lot, from one place to another and another, separated. It must have been scary and upsetting not knowing what was going to happen next.

It was so sweet to see them together again.

Now Holly is one of the best dogs I've even seen, sweet and well behaved. Millie is nothing like we were warned. She does lead fine, she is fine with the other dogs, and she is fine with my granddaughter.

The first day, I had some aggression, but all she needed was a "No" and that was that. I doubt anyone tried to train her.

She's already lost half a pound, loves a bath, and will allow some brushing if I go easy. She's really quite a sweet little girl.

She looked pretty bad when we got her, but even in these few days, she's looking better. A little brushing, a little trimming, and she's fluffed right up like a fox colored teddy bear.

A lot of people would have passed these two up due to their age, and they would have missed out on such great dogs.
