Default Here's a little something--

--that doesn't thrill me much, considering the controversy over optimal Vitamin D levels to begin with:

Shocked I don't trust Quest...

When I have my blood work done with them, my cholesterols are always higher than when I use the hospital!

Just goes to show... medical testing and opinions can all be based on phantoms!

That is why I don't recommend really high doses of Vit D.
I am still careful with it myself. But I do use it...because in summer when I get alot sun and tan up, I feel so much better.
I don't take any in summer.
I am using 4000 IU daily now in winter, and when spring comes and I am outside more I will reduce to 2000IU. Then I stop around June-Sept.

I found that as is so often the case Wikepedia answers most questions, as here on the subject of vitamin D. I take supplementation as Mrs D does except that as we get so much less sun in the UK and I go out much less now, I take 2000iu of D3 all through the summer as well. It would also seem that toxic levels are not that easy to reach short of deliberate or extremely careless overdosing

It is interesting to note the various cancers that appear less in those with higher levels of Vit D.
