Default x-mas card funny

ok - I sent out maybe 20 cards to MS folks here for x-mas and alot of people said their cards got destroyed and showed up in "WE CARE" type of plastic bags.

Well, it was somewhat entertaining, but I had no idea what you guys were getting.

I know now...

I got a return one today! The back half of the envelope and the card got sheared off. It's just the front of the envelope. Postmarked 12/15/08 - the day I mailed them. This one got sent to Knoxville.

Knoxville put it in one of those "WE CARE" plastic bags and I got it back today!

Oh, by the way, it your x-mas card Nancy (snoodles).

Ok, this is great. EVERYONE everywhere in NT and all the other message boards I have ever participated on - I sent you a x-mas card!!! If ya didn't get it (or a bagged part of it), sorry! Not my fault! USPS destroyed it! Wow. I didn't forget anybody this year..............

This WE CARE bag is a trip...

Tom

That's how my card came, Tom.....just the front of the envelope. USPS here didn't even give me a 'We Care' bag! Thank you, Tom . It doesn't matter that the card didn't make it to me. I know ya tried and that's what counts anyway .

Was it an unusual type of card, or did it have an object of some kind in it??

There was a news story on our local news, and I think I saw a similar story on Fox News. Said that this year was a bad year for Xmas card deliveries.

Something about the paper the envelopes are made out of were extremely substandard, almost like toilet paper. The processing machines at a lot of post offices ate a lot of cards because the machines would push the envelopes thru, and it would make the cards tear the envelopes open.

I sent a b-day card to my sister (her b-day is just before Xmas) in a teeny tiny hick town in New York State, the card made it to her apartment building, but the card went to the bookstore downstairs...the lady there hates my sister (gee, my sister and b-in-law organized the bookstore for her and got it running, and she fired them and hired out-of-towners to run the place instead. Greaaaat reason to hate them)

That lady put it back in the mail, rather than walk up 8 steps to give it to my sister, and the post office put a sticker on it to forward the card to her PO Box, but for some reason it didnt forward to the PO Box, it ended up coming back to me a week after her b-day and we ended up putting it in the box of Xmas presents we rushed to her a couple of days before Xmas.

The envelope was chewed up...it was open on the side (like the paper just came apart) and the envelope flap was torn too, but the card was still inside. Good thing we didnt send her any gift cards in her b-day card, they'd have disappeared.

Your card to me also arrived damaged. It wasn't the only one that got here that way though.

I feel awful, because I didn't even send any out.

I made them, they're all still sitting on my desk, and I got sick just before Christmas so there they sit. Oh well, ready for next year.
