I have this book about Dewey. If you get a chance, you should see if you can find a copy. Dewey was a kitten when the employees of Spencer, Iowa's library found him in a book return. Someone had tossed him into the return! Poor little guys' piddies were frozen when they found him..

They took him in and asked for permission from the city, etc., to keep Dewey as their library cat. The stories of him are so wonderful and precious. Fair warning though! ... for Dewey passed away, but all the years he lived there were just awesome and again, the stories.

I met the librarian author at, of all places, the local Hy-Vee food store before Christmas. She was autographing and selling the books there.
