For anyone who's not yet seen the thread I started in the Social Forum, Australians in the southern states badly need your prayers.

Australia has it's worst bushfires in history, and the death toll stands at 128 and rising. Whole families have been wiped out.... many of them found huddled together in the burnt out ruins of their homes. Other families died in their cars as they tried to flee the fires. Many are still missing.

People still in the fire's path, emergency workers and survivors need your prayers.

I just saw about the fires on the world news. Is it true they think some were started by arsonists? I hate to think so much devastation can be brought on in such a way. My prayers are still with your country... and you, glad you are safe, but I know it is very stressful for you and you love your country folk. So sorry this is all happening.

That is so sad to hear of the families, how scary.
I will say prayers for the tragedy to end. It must be very dry in the country.

I remember the fires we had out west last year were also thought to be arsonist.

You got it Anne~ The news we are getting over here is just devasting. It's just awful to think of arsonists doing this and that so many lives have been lost to these fires due to the horrific actions of others.

One of my close girl friends works at a big TV network here in Australia, and the film and photographs from the fires that's been landing on her's and other people's desks has been horrific. It's much too graphic to ever be broadcast, but it's getting to her, and it's getting to many others.

One of the girls who worked with her, jumped off the 7th floor of the TV network building yesterday. It all got too much.

Please may I ask that you don't forget us in your prayers. Thousands of Australians still need them.

Oh my goodness, I just can't imagine how awful it must be, especially for those on the front line. I guess the only thing I can do for them, is keep them in my thoughts and send up a few prayers.
