Default This is un-real - boy becomes father at 13

Ok, I look at this kid's picture and it's hard to believe he is a father. I think his 15 min's of fame will last a bit longer than most.

I saw this on the news today as this boy is from the UK also and lives about 2 hours away from us and I was SO shocked as he only looks about 10, if that!!!

I'm 14 and can't imagine being a mum at my age as I still have to grow up a lot but it seems as though lots if children my age are becoming teenage parents!!! A girl at my school got pregnant when she was 15 and said it was the worst mistake she ever made BUT her parents told her it was her fault and that she had to look after the child and from what I believe, she did!!!

It's scary thinking about what the world is coming to and that children at such a young age are getting pregnant and having a baby - as a news reporter said earlier, it's Kids having kids!!!

I really hope this boy will be a good dad and actually look after his child unlike most other teenage dads - he said he would but I think reality is a total different sutuation!! He doesn't even look like he is even old enough to look after himself never mind a child and I really hope that this baby will get the help and love that she needs and deserves!!

He looks like he's eight years old!! Good grief.......what's this world coming to?! There's loving couples who desperately want a child and can't have one......then there's situations like this and the froot-loop in CA who had 8 at once. I just do not understand it.

This doesn't surprise me. Kids are having sex earlier than you think. I remember a girl in the neighborhood having sex at age 9 with my friend who was 13. She was much more mature than most 9 year olds.

It happens and unfortunately sex ed needs to be taught much earlier. But in reality, kids are going to do what they want no matter how hard it's shoved in their faces not to.

I do have a question...is the SUN a reputable paper or is like the Globe and Enquierer?

How many times do you see their headline stories being nothig but hogwash?

Yep..an alien ate my dog and impregnated my cat.

Yeah, I was wondering that too Curious. Why put it all over unless they need money and were paid for the story.

Sadly I see it often with my patients. We had a 16yo girl with 2 babies and it took me close to a week to get her to even be willing to discuss considering birth control.

I used to work as a social worker for the county health dept. with our maternal and infant program. I remember a pregnant 17 y.o.; the father was 13. She used to complain that he was immature, and that all he wanted to do was play computer games.

Duh!? He's 13.
