ROFL! I just happened to look when one of the puppies went up to the camera lens and his its little nose sniffin around, LOL. They are very active. But boy, they sure don't look like dachsunds to me! But then I guess I've never seen a dachsund puppy.

Sooooo adorable!
When I checked, they were being petted and of course, this made them HAPPY!
I am one psyched, happy mamma (dachshund owner myself...also new kitty owner apparently! LOL!)
BTW...when they are pups...they don't really look like doxies. Each day, they look more and more like one though. And their personalities become more and more evident as well.

Now, I would like to add something.
Were they advertising on this site? Hmmmm
Who said American ingenuity was dead?

I noticed that too, the advertising. The bloodhound in me came out and I went to their web site and contacted them via email. I got a lovely email back from one of the owners. It's a couple and the mommy and daddy, Lizzy and Gizmo, are their own pets. They have some mighty cute pictures on their web site.

Here's what they had to say...

Quote:
Hi Nancy,
I'm glad you enjoyed our pups. We are a home breeder and our male and female are our pets. We don't run a kennel and do not intend to continue breeding for the long term. This is our 6th litter with Lizzy and Gizmo and every one of them have been amazing.

When we are blessed with a litter they become the center of our lives until they all have homes which is usually 8-9 weeks. We've really enjoyed breeding them and have many satisfied customers/friends all over the USA many of them returning for a second companion for their first.

With Lizzy and Gizmo turning 4 and 5 this year I think we're going to keep one of the pups and then it will probably be time for spay and neutering. Lizzy is a wonder mommy and the vet says she is in perfect health but I want to make sure we keep her healthy until she is a gray old doxie.

I work for a school and in the next two weeks the puppies will make a visit to the agriscience/animal medicine classroom at our career center so the students can check out the pups. It is a great way for the puppies to be socialized around so many kids and at the same time the kids get to practice their veteranarian skills.

Take Care
This is the web site.

they are just adorable!!!!Its hard to get much work done as I find myself glued to the puppy cam.

I "spoke"(chatted online) to the breeder myself and was a bit surprised that this is the SIXTH litter for the Momma. Also concerning is that she ships them at 8-9weeks. Most reputable breeders wouldn't let them go so soon. So obviously,I don't agree with their breeding program, but the pups are sure darling!

That's neat you got to chat with the breeder. And yeah, I don't agree with it either. At least they aren't running a puppy mill, well, according to what he said. They cost a thousand bucks! Holy jiminy!

I'm glad they are going to retire the momma and daddy.

Believe it or not before I got Mya I was looking at an english cream doxie that was 1500.00. Now that I am more aware of the need to adopt I would never "Buy" another dog.

The thing with breeders is you really don't know if they are back yard breeders or one step away from a puppy mill. Most people that buy from breeders don't do their homework. I have heard so many horror stories. It just makes me sad and soooo tired!!
