i'm not giving any opinion about parties or issues. I just wanted to know if I was the last to discover that Barak Obama's middle name is Hussein. Joan I don't think you mentioned that..or I forgot it.
You have to have a sense of humor here. What do you think of the possibility of introducing United States Pres, Barak Hussein Obama in 2008 He seems up and coming, very much liked. But doesn't it stir up questions about its irony? (Not meant to discredit him...I like him so far...) Paula

There is a news clip (a while ago) of Teddy Kennedy (trying) to introduce Barak Obama... but instead of saying the name correctly, Kennedy said ... Barak Osama Bin Ladin (or something like that) ...
 too funny!

To me his middle name doesnt take away from his charisma..(sp?)..I like what I see and hear so far
Is he a Muslim?

No, he isn't. I just wonder if there is a message somewhere when we could have a President named so much like our most well-known enemies. Kind of like electing a President Hitler during World War II. But a very nice Mr Hitler.
Some people say there are no coincidences. I have no opinion on that, seems like life is full of them. Paula

i was always aware that his middole name was Hussain and i would never deliberatly mislead you...but to me, this was a non-issue. i have heared that in many cultures Hussain is as common as smith or johnson in our culture.
rather than his name, i choose to concentrate on his values, his integrity, his strong support of stem cell research and also his heroes. he has told me on more than one occasion that two of his heroes are the late senator from Illinois & the reteiring Illinois Congressman Lane Evans.i believe that the people who have infuenced you in the past help to shape your charecter today and i can think of no two other greater men to be my inspiration.

Joan,
And that's most likely the message that should be learned - especially in America, where things like this can happen. No I was saying it with a chuckle and know you wouldn't mislead. It's just - well you know -it crosses your mind and makes you wonder if there is something to really be learned from such an amazing coincidence. paula
