Confused son bipolar...fluoride poisoning? Please help!!!!

I am looking for any answers I can find. My healthy(never a cold or flu), sweet(never any behavioral problems) smart(A plus student) son at age 21 has been diagnosed with bipolar. Goes manic to the point of psychosis. Has been hospitalized 4 times in a year and a half. Long story but Riperidol (spelling?) and Saffras(?) not good. Tried empower plus seemed to work and then another episode. We had a hair analysis done. Dr Larry Wilson put him on diet and supplements to support and detox as it showed very low adrenal function, low thyroid and high calcium, aluminum and copper. Had mercury too. Put him back on empower plus as well. He was getting better each day for 4 months..then a really really bad psychosis. Hospitalized now on Zyprexa. I just read something last night about fluoride poisoning. My son had prescription vitamins with fluoride for the first year of his life. We also have fluorinated water and he had at least two fluoride treatments at dentist. He has little white marks on his front teeth. Could the bipolar be caused from fluoride poisoning. I read fluoride makes you retain aluminum. I never bought soda in cans. He did drink soda in cans at college for 2 years. Also he never had a cavity until he came home from college the first semester and then he had 8 cavities. That is a reason I suspected copper overload.. that and he is losing his hair...that is why I had the hair analysis done. I want to go back to detoxing now that he is home for a couple of weeks. He cant go off meds though....he can function on Zyprexa until we can figure this out. DOes anyone have info for me...? I

You might also explore Pyroluria. This is a very low B6 low zinc condition that causes mental symptoms when severe. The mood swings can resemble bipolar disorder.

Here is a link:
http://drkaslow.com/html/pyroluria.html

Not all doctors believe in this, but we have seen people on the forums in the past who improved significantly when their B6 and Zinc were normalized.

High copper levels can indicate low zinc status. (they are a dual pair and affect each other). Low zinc status also leads to hair loss. Stress can tip a person into an attack of pyroluria. They also tend to self medicate with alcohol due to anxiety issues.

I'd get the testing done. It is fairly benign if the proper doses of B6 and zinc and used, and the other drugs won't be necessary at all once correction is done.

yes..I've read about Pyluria. His symptoms seemed like copper so I had his hair tested and his copper was high. Now I also suspect fluoride because he was exposed to it.

Pyroluria seems to be something that we would have noticed earlier. This was a healthy child who was a straight A student and did not have senistivity issues...had lots of friends was away at school. Had an even temperment his whole life. Nothing bothered him. Came home from college and strarted acting strange isolated himself..started hearing voices. Became a vegan which made it worse they say. diet low in zinc and high in copper. His adrenals and thyroid are extremely low and not working right. His calcium is high. He did not have uneven fat distribution. All of a sudden he started losing his hair. Also copper symptoms have a lot of body hair but lose the hair on their heads which is what is happening to him. I heard excessive fluoride cause you to retain aluminum.

Hi,

Did the doc check for zinc? The copper and zinc ratio needs to be appropriate.

I doubt that flouride caused his bipolar.

Is he home with you and is he accepting your help?

The two best things he can do is exercise outside in the sun (depending on your weather) and get enough sleep at night.

Default lights out

Hi,

Here is a web site that explains the importance of sleeping in the dark for people with mania.

Science does not know what causes bipolar. They are studying epigenetics.
http://www.newscientist.com/article/...-disorder.html

Quote:
"I feel this is the best evidence yet, from human studies, supporting the hypothesis that epigenetic mechanisms may drive psychiatric disorders," says David Sweatt, who studies epigenetics at the University of Alabama and was not involved in the study.

The book Lights Out does not directly with bipolar but it does talk about the importance of sleeping in the dark.

Hi Hillary, I had gum disease, Dentist advised me to my clean teeth more, I doubled to 6 or 7 times a day with Sodium Fluoride toothpaste and mouthwash, this entered the blood stream and effected the Pineal gland causing havoc, for about 90 days later taken into hospital: this happens to the patients who are left for 3 days observation, and around the 5/6 day had severe explosive diarrhea lasting 30/36 hours: everyone gets this, a side effect to fluoride poisoning!
Drink distilled water only, about 10 pints a day for 10 days to clean the system, then eat only organic food where possible, eat Banana's when spotted. Good cheese, source your milk, learn to use herbs
NO WHITE BREAD, NO BREAKFAST CEREAL, NO RICE, NO SEMI_SKIMMED MILK, NO PROCESS MEAT, NO SUGAR PRODUCTS
Look on the internet how to detox your body using herbs
Be blessed
