Its a very old house. And I thought the ceiling was put in place 15 or 16
years ago when my husband re-did most of the house. But he said it was the same when he bought it. So I am not sure. It luckily didn't take down the plaster, just the outer part of the ceiling, not even sure of the name of the blocks of ?. I am sorry I can't remember the name. Its interesting looking at what is down and still up. Because between the blocks and the plaster is what looks like once was wall paper. Very odd place for it. Its making it very hard to know what to do with the mess. Donna

I have replaced sections of ceiling, and walls, and that was fairly cheap and easy. I was able to do it myself before I was handicapped. But I don't know the extent of the damage to your ceiling. I didn't have to use blocks, all that was needed was drywall in both cases.
I hope the repairs go off without a hitch. |

Other than the mess it is creating getting the pieces down. It should
be fine. I'm not sure of the cost, because supplies have sure gone up. But my husband will do it himself. Donna
