Its been a while since I posted. But keep Derrick in your thoughts and
prayers. His level of falsphates or whatever it is was still high. They
are doing more blood work and a abdominal ultrasound Wednesday.
Mainly the liver and gallbladder.

Also we are starting to catch him in telling us stories. Not exactly sure
how to handle this. Need to figure out a good way.

Meaning mainly that he tells us what we want to hear. And then will do
something else. Ugh, silly kid. He also does orientation and going back
to work next week.

RE the Phosphates:
They are influenced by certain medications like certain anti-seizure meds.

RE telling stories.:

Teenagers, especially males do it. Grown up men do it too.
There are probably experts about how to talk to them but I have no expertise in it. Sorry that is going on. Find things to do together. . . .some activities . . .
Some people find that a car ride works.
The child and you are sitting in the car togehter and not looking at each other and it can be a comfortable time to talk.

I hope that Derrick's tests results come back okay, and the cause of his high phosphate levels is something innocuous and easily handled

I don't know what to make of the story telling, but the info Mari provided makes sense. It made me think that Derrick is living in an apartment alone now and that may somehow be a factor.

I will say some good words for him

Thanks Kay

I also think Mari's thoughts are probably the answer. We will see how
it goes with that.
