Default Strange vague symptoms?

Hi all, I posted this in the general health conditions forum and a mod suggested posting here;

Im a bit lost as to whats going on with me and the symptoms ive been getting so thought it would be worth posting here to see if anyone has any ideas.

The symptoms are very hard to describe but I will do my best. I have been suffering with an anxiety disorder and possible PTSD for a few years now so the symptoms may well be caused by that but also may not be as they often dont feel related.

So the vague symptoms feel like my brain is somehow disorientated or somehow somwhere else other than in my current reality in this moment. When I move parts of my body I can see and sense that im moving them but its like my brain thinks something else is going on. Its like my brain is trying to make me do different movments. Im trying to focus on doing basic tasks but my brain is somewhere else in some random termoil. I sometimes struggle to sense where my limbs are or feel like they are not part of me. Sometimes this underlying random termoil gets so bad I feel like im struggling to know how to move my limbs. Its all very confusing, my brain just feels like a complete mush and I cannot think or make sense of anything.

Sorry the description is so vague, its hard to put into words. It feels like my brain is all jumbled up and trying to pattern match or close something off and its somehow in my awareness where as it would usually be in the subconscious or doing this while im asleep. Im conciously trying to function and focus while this stuff is intruding and confusing everything.

It could be down to anxiety and traumas that my brain is trying to get through and I hope it is that and its a process that will pass but at the moment it does really feel like something is malfunctioning.

I should also add that I suffered with persistent pressure heacaches with intermitent sharp pains and severe brain fog and poor cognition. I had an MRI due to these about 5 months ago, this came back as normal. These headaches have deminished greatly over the past month or so where as these other symptoms have cropped up and got really intense so I dont know if they are somehow related.

These symptoms are there pretty much all of the time.

Does anyone have any ideas or experienced anything similar? Thanks for reading.

Hi Parttime,

Welcome to the forum! I could be wrong but I've had epilepsy for 43 yrs. and what you are describing sounds like a jamais vu seizure which is like sitting in your living room and nothing looks familiar to you and you're not sure where you are. I've had this happen to me before.

My advice to you is for your family Dr. to refer you to see an Epileptologist which is a Dr. that specializes in epilepsy. These Dr. can do special tests and find out if you are having seizures or if there's another problem going on.
I do know that trauma and lack of sleep are the 2 main things that can trigger seizures for a person. You should have an e.e.g. done, along with a CT scan PET and SPECT scan to be sure especially since you have PTSD. Try taking vitamin B12 1000 mcg. once a day to see if that helps you and cut back on the carbs and starch foods. I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You!
