OMG!!! Had my first "vestibular migraine" when I got a cold, bronchitis and an asthma flare up a couple weeks ago...I was sicker from the vertigo than the bronchitis!!! Thankfully, I was visiting my best friend (who has suffered from Menier's disease since 2009) so she knew exactly what I was going through!

I have an appointment to see a neurologist who specializes in migraines. However, unless he gets a cancellation, the appointment wont be till mid-March!

Hi go-blue-girl,

I have what they used to call "complicated migraines". I actually experience stroke-like symptoms without the migraine pain. Currently, I am completely numb and weak on the left side and my left foot is dragging most of the time. I am also experiencing the dizziness off and on and we can not forget about the nauseau. My vision is also affected.

My PCP is sending me back to my neuro for further examination. I was just at my neuro in December. The only good thing about this is that I am due my annual brain MRI. Yes, migraines without the pain do happen and it can be a very scary experience. This is not the first time, but it is the worst experience that I have had.

Good luck and best wishes.

I've been experiencing migraines since I was 3 years old. Apparently I inherited this from my father.
As I have gotten older, my migraines have become more frequent, but more manageable.
I am not on any prescribed medication (as they are only once every two months).
However, when I do get them, my first indication will be a complete elation in mood where I am super happy (this I never clue into until after I get the vision blurriness). Then I start to loose a bit of peripheral vision. Once that goes then I get the complete aura (which gives me 30 minutes to take some sort of medication/caffine, etc.). I am completely drained, and as long as I get the medication in, I will only be exhausted from the aura. If I do have a headache I won't normally notice it. There are times, yes, that I get the same symptoms as you, but on other occasions, my brain completely does its own thing and I can barely stand the glare from a dimly lit light bulb.
I do hope you are able to come to some sort of conclusion with what you are going through.
Best of luck
