Confused Mestonin

I just started to take Mestonin and I am having trouble with head aches at the end of a dose period (3 hours after take it). I suffer from chronic migraines so I don't know if this is the reason. But it takes about an hour after i take the next dose for it to go away. I have not found any post of others with this problem.

Hello Dotshots, I can't offer much advice regarding the headaches, but I also in just in the last 8 weeks started Mestinon and did have GI problems with it. What has helped is starting slowly, I started at 30 mg 3x a day and have worked my way up to 4 60mg tablets now without any real issues.

Good luck, I hope you can tolerate this med.

If the dose isn't enough or not spaced correctly I will get headaches from eye fatigue as the mestinon wears off. You may need a higher dose which happened to me every 3 hours.

Hello Dotshots It sure can be very difficult to differentiate. A very tiny population of MGers who take mestinon can have adverse reaction to the bromide in mestinon.

Default Keeping a log

Thanks everyone. I have decided to keep a log of the times I take the mestonin and when the head aches start and stop to see how to adjust the medication. See if I can hone this down a bit. I also get a slight eye twitch and froggy throat at about an hour after taking a pill and I have trouble swallowing and speech at about 3 hours. This is so complicated!

With higher doses or to close together i get a terrible headache and a tight feeling in my lower throat. I am starting more IVIG treatments this week and will have them on a regular schedule so i can come down on mestinon...way too many side effects that affect me.
