Default cold temperatures and MG?

I was diagnosed with MG in July and noticed how heat and humidity effected me this past summer. Just miserable!

But my favorite sport is skiing. At age 60 I can't imagine giving it up. Has anyone had experience with cold weather and MG? If so, any suggestions to help?

X2 I much prefer the colder weather it doesn't affect me, just dress in layers and if you do start getting to warm just Peel off layers...but I've noticed that I have to up my vitamin D3 intake during the colder months because of us being all covered up and not soaking up any SUN, in the warmer months I take 40ui a week and fall/winter months I gradually up to 70ui a week.

I do a lot of ice fishing in sub zero weather and do fine, I think you'll be fine for skiing just keep your body temp under control and enjoy every minute, good luck and have fun!

Wink

Everyone reacts differently to cold. I can't do it. It isn't noticeable right away as heat is, but has a more delayed effect.

Besides, once bundled up for skiing, a body gets pretty hot. I hope you can still do it!

Try to get the warmest clothes you can without making them too restrictive. if i ya get too cold you start to shiver and shivering can kill your energy level and once that happens it's a snowball effect

Default After 2 years in Phoenix

I can say I prefer cold/cool weather to the hot. The hot makes me feel more tired after the same activity level than cooler temps.

One thing to watch for is sun exposure. Some of the drugs we take have warnings about sun exposure, make sure you use sunscreen.

Good luck, i miss skiing. Since moving from Wyoming to Arizona 30 years ago, I haven't been on the slopes. I used to enjoy it a lot. <sigh>
