Hello everyone,

I am Futurist (a 24-year-old university student from Southern California) and I had a TBI in February 2014 as a result of me hitting my head extremely hard on an extremely hard metal/steel ladder. This ladder was located on top of a truck (or car) as I was walking at a very rapid pace behind this truck (or car). However, I unfortunately didn't see this ladder (since having a ladder on top of a truck or car--especially a ladder which sticks out--certainly isn't a very common occurrence; thus, I simply wasn't prepared to look out for such ladders) and thus hit my head extremely hard on this ladder. As a result of this TBI, I certainly had a severe concussion that lasted at least for the next 24 hours. However, this TBI appears to have permanently changed me by making me even more emotional than I previously was and (unfortunately) by creating problems with the right side of my brain and with my right arm and hand. Indeed, unlike the left side of my brain, the right side of my brain literally appears to feel empty or at least more empty in comparison to the left side of my brain, which feels normal. Likewise, while I appear to have no problems moving my left arm and hand, I often have difficulty moving my right arm and hand. Indeed, unlike my left arm and hand, my right arm and hand often feel very tight and compressed and I simply don't know why this is the case. After all, this is something that never occurred to me before my TBI in February 2014.

Thus, I joined this forum in the hope of finding some answers in regards to this. Also, for the record, No, I didn't actually see a doctor yet in regards to this.

Hello Futurist: I see you did not receive any replies to this introductory post. So I thought I would leave a belated one. I'm still pretty new here to. Hope you begin to feel better soon. If not, perhaps it is time to see that doctor?
