Hi Kiwi33,

I am so very sorry that your cat companion and friend has died. These beautiful companions are so entwined with our journey. Though no longer here in one sense they are with us forever in another. Our tears are a fitting memorial to our true and noble friends.

Hi kiwi

So sorry to hear of your loss of Susie - your story of her AWOL adventure and subsequent return showed us how important a member of your family she was.
20 years is an amazing lifespan for a cat - she clearly thrived under your loving care and attention.

Kiwi, I only just read about the loss of Suzie, you had 18 yrs plus, in cat years she was well over 100 and undoubtedly loved her life with you. The loss of a much loved animal can be overwhelming, their love unconditional. Don't hold out too long before getting another (or 2) animal love along with cuddles helps soothe the soul. Love and hugs xxx

Again, thank you all for your lovely words

I am feeling a bit less numb so I think that I might go to the vets this week to talk about kittens

I was so sorry to read the news. I lost my two 19 year olds within three months of each other and felt so lost. That was over 10 years ago now, and while they'll always have a place in my heart, other furry creatures have taken up residence there as well. My latest one is a spitfire whom I adore.

Here's hoping your home will be furry again soon.

Wink

I'd like to add this little story:

3 days after Tippy (19) had her unfortunate stroke and had to be put to sleep (not treatable and extremely painful), we found Weezie... In early January when kittens are just not plentiful.

She was a runt of her litter, and very shy, and the only kitten left from her litter. People who came to her home then just didn't want a kitten that they thought had no personality and was totally black.

So I decided to take her anyway, and at three months old her Bombay fur came in-- breathtakingly beautiful. Her personality grew with us to become extremely unique and special.

Here are some photos from those days 5 yrs ago, up to the present.....

.

she thinks she is a human now, and actually sings to us to wake us up when she feels it is time to start the day! LOL Not a day passes that we don't find her antics amusing, and appreciate her ability to help Maya along. From day one since we got Maya, Weez has been wonderful to her helping little Maya adust from being a feral kitten to a domestic feline.

I hope you will get yourself a new kitten soon...

Thanks mrsD - lovely pictures
.
.

I went to the vets last week. They were great, explaining that all of their kittens are desexed and microchipped.

Sometime in the next week or so I will go back and choose a couple (so they can keep each other company when I am out).

I need to arrange a few things first (a new nestbox for them and some kitten food) but am really looking forward to their arrival
