Hi Mrs D
I'm sorry i did'nt reply sooner.
It did'nt go very well.....
My ole kitty kat is set in his ways
.

So i have been trying to take it easy on him.
He growls when he sees them.So i am afraid to let him down to even smell
them up close!!!
I hold him on my lap while we sit up on the couch.I tried to give him treats while we "watch" the kittens play.He wont even touch the treats...
His ears are up.I was watching for that..Yet i am very afraid to let him down when he is growling and sometimes hissing even..
I am sure he senses my fear as well..
Do you make house calls??
.

Thanks for posting the links.I will check them out!

Lightbulb fear..

Yes, I think HE is afraid...

remember it is two against one... and he may have forgotten how to "play"...and needs to get back in that groove. Kittens are unpredictable, and this may
upset him too.

You might try putting one kitten in another room and introducing the other one to your established one. One on one may be easier for him.

I had a vet once tell me, that cats do this, and even play rough..what we think is aggression is really just their way. Sometimes the screaming etc is fun for them. Our middle kitty used to scream and wrestle with Roofie (a cat we no longer have--killed
.
by a police car who came up off the road under the bushes to hid and radar cars).. they had grand times. She was so depressed after his passing, we got another Oreo...and when Oreo played rough, Tippy did her scream thing, and scared Oreo right off.. Oreo won't play that way anymore. But they do hide and seek very well, instead! So some learning and personality differences do exist. Our oldest cat has pain issues, and will hiss off any play advances..she is 16. So do make sure your established cat is not ill or hurting. That may affect the introductions alot.

We have cat trees so any of the cats can go up high when they want privacy. You might consider building one, or buying one. They work well.

Default introducing cats

One of the things I had to do when I had cats (had them for years) was introduce them gradually. Whenever we got a new kitten I was told to isolate the new cat behind a closed door. We would go in to play with him frequently. The old cat would sniff him under the door and would pick up his scent on our clothes. Then when we let them together (usually two days) they would warily approach each other but would not fight. They always settled in a couple of days.

Hi Mrs D and silverlady
Well i have been letting my uncle Felix LOL
Just kinda sit on the sidelines while the lilones eat and run and play.
I was thinking the longer i wait the harder it's gonna be.So everytime i brought them in the livingroom to eat or play,i did'nt make him stay in my room.
He was such a good boy!!!He of course was still not real happy but there were no attacks<shew>
.

My lil female just walked right up to him at one point and he hissed at her and she just kinda backed off with every hair standin up on her lil body..LOL
My male baby thought he was gonna "get him"heehee.Well uncle felix let him know who the boss was with a big ole hiss and growl..It was funny to watch his lil black body go runnin across the room real quick!!!
I keep watching those ears like you told me Mrs D.So far they are staying up!!!!
So i know he is just afraid...Not in attack mode..I am starting to think this will work afterall!!!I know they may not be good buddies-but possibly be able to tolerate each other and thats good enough for me!!
I made sure i went in the kitchen with my older kitty{uncle Felix}LOL
and gave him some treats ad one on one time with me.So wish me lots of luck.I appreciate all of your advice you have given me.It helped me ALOT!!!!
I will post updates again soon!
Have a good night...

Kell

sounds to me like you are doing this the right way
.

Our mama cat did the same thing when our teensie JR puppy came to stay....my son was terrified that she would kill the pup, but it really was the same thing as you are seeing and they soon adapted to each other. Millie is a full grown dog now, but she still shows Queen Snowball healthy respect
.

ps your photos make me want a new kitten!!

I uploaded a pic of uncle Felix.I hope it works!
He just turned 7 in may.It was soooo cute yesterday when i was talking
baby talk to one of the kitties,he rolled over and wanted me to rub his belly. He is a big ole baby too
.

Hubby left for the weekend and took the camera w/him
.

So i cant take any pics right now...Soon i will post some new ones..Not to worry-I said to hubby how will i get new picsof the kitties if your taking the camera? He said ..You already have a hundred..heehee
Chemar-your story gives me hope that this can be done!Thank you for the encouragemant!
I think i would be nervous about introducing cats and dogs more so than cat&cat..LOL

Default Oh, my...

Felix looks just like my Oreo!

I posted her pics on other threads here. Take a look! It is uncanny!

Oreo is a great cat..nice and non-agressive. So maybe your Felix is alot like
her?
