let me begin by telling you that i am writing this from my beat up 44 year old trailer that leaks and is infest with cockroaches. it is impossible to get public housing and the wait list for section 8 has been closed forvever, until now. i don't know what made me check their site a couple of weeks ago but as it turned out there were opening the list to online applications only from midnight to noon on tha sunday. i just got the letter in the mail that im on the wait list. now, does anyone know how long it takes? im guessing years.

I'm not familiar with the Section 8 system but maybe if they knew your situation you could be bumped up on the waiting list.

It couldn't hurt to call them and at least let them know your living arrangements.
