Hey all as the title says.

Just wondering if anyone here has come off, what was it like, as well did you feel as good after etc etc I am on Zoloft 100mg and am curious what everyone's experiences have been like.

My recovery has really taken off these last couple months and I feel nearly normal so I was wondering now if this is a good option or not

I spent 14 years on Paxil at the maximum dose. It took me months to taper off. It was not pleasant but it was not bad. I took L-Tryptophan while I did it. Paxil and Zoloft have similar discontinuation issue.

Talk with your doctor and take it slow.

I now take 5-HTP to replace the serotonin that the Paxil increased.

I was really depressed after my TBI a year ago. I was already on Wellbutrin because I was bipolar. They took me off of it and I looked for another antidepressant but none clicked with me so I just stepped back from them to do some research and try to find one I would like. I wasn't a fan of SSRIs but that seemed to be all that they would prescribe me because I was seizure prone.

After I stopped taking all of the antidepressants I realized that I actually wasn't feeling depressed at all. In fact, since my head injury I have actually been able to stop taking the majority of my medications. The skull fracture and TBI seems to have fixed my chronic lower back pain for which I took a lot of different meds and also my bipolar seems to be gone. I went from 12+ meds to 2 meds. Tapazole for Graves disease and Topamax for seizures...that is pretty much it!

When I stopped Nortriptyline it caused dizziness, vertigo, hallucinations, tremors, insomnia and electric shocks. It's been a year and I still get vertigo everytime I roll over in bed. I think I had Antidepressant discontinuation syndrome - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I was on Venlafaxine (150 mg/day) for clinical depression, not PCS/TBI, for many years.

A few years ago I discontinued slowly (over about a month) with approval and close monitoring from my prescribing psychiatrist.

I did not have any adverse side-effects.

Cymbalta works for me. Too many side effects from everything else. Only side-effect I ever had was moments of confusion. Like I'm in the kitchen and then I think to myself "What did I come down here to get again??"

Going up (to 120mg after my second to last bump) and down then finally off... no problems. Just did it exactly how the Neuro told me to do it. 30mg a week. Of course three months after I was completely off..hit head again! argh..
