Yes, Phenergan is not the best anti-nausea drug.
But supply problems have plagued the other two drugs previously used. Compazine and Tigan are much stronger.
Prochlorperazine (compazine) has stronger phenothiazine side effects too. It is typically only used for a day or two for GI viruses/food poisoning. Daily use is discouraged today.

Zofran remains highly expensive. It was originally developed for chemo nausea, but they use it now for other types including migraine. Even the generic costs alot.
There is an OTC product called Emetrol.

It works like Coca Cola syrup directly on the stomach receptors, to block the signals going to the brain. It is mild but effective for some people. Wears off fairly quickly, but much safer than many of the RX drugs.
Phenergan is better tolerated but also has weaker antinausea actions. It was at one time very popular in RX cough syrups.
There is a Phenergan cream in Canada OTC for itching. Or was last time I was there.
