Mary, I will post back. It will take about 5 days to get my test results back and I firmly believe no matter what it says, that I need to increase my dose. I spent a lot of time at:

http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/

Back when all this began for me, I thought I had diabetes when I developed numbness, tingles, burning. Terrified, I went to the dr believing diabetes was my problem. Nope she said no (although I disagree that I don't need to worry, my meter numbers tell me i am pre diabetic, well on my way if I don't change things, but dr's dont worry until its way too late). She told my hypothyroid can cause neuropathy.

Wow, I never knew that, and it's not discussed much in conjection with thyroid, you really have to ask the right questions, specifically, when doing research.

I do not have "typical" hypothyroid symptoms, though I do have some. Anyway, after much research and I had to fire my 1st dr and search for the right one that would prescribe desciated thyroid meds instead of the typical synthetic levo, or synthroid ones, I finally got a dr, got on the meds and life became amazing again.

All pn problems went away, numbness, tingles, major heel and foot pain, better. I also stopped eating carbs and lost 60 pds, started exercise again.

Life was good...until.

3 months ago symptoms all came back. Slowly it got worse, the pn burning in my feet got worse and worse. I had to quit my job 2 months ago due to a policy of close toed shoes, which I can no longer do. The last 2 weeks I stopped exercising. My feet burn all the time.

Then last night I thought...what helped me to begin with? Thyroid meds. So I went back to the above site and read it all again and bam. I remember now that I am on the LOWEST dose of meds. and its almost unheard of to stay on this dose longer than 2 weeks. stupid.

I forgot that I am really my own best doctor. My dr only prescribed this med because of my tenacity and research. I did have my blood redone about 6 months ago it my numbers were down, but I firmly believe I need more meds. One thing I learned is that tsh and all those numbers are only guides, that medication should be given according to symptoms, not numbers.

Anyway, that is way more than you asked for, I am just so excited to have a plan of action again and take control again. It's a lesson to myself to not get complacent.

I will let you know how my dr app. goes, more more importantly, I will report back after I up my meds on my progress. I am prayerfully believing it will work.
