Question about Vestibular Therapy and Head Pressure
I also went for a vestibular therapy evaluation as well, the other day. The dr also had me shake my head from side-to- side, before doing one of the balance tests with me. I knew this was not good for my head, so I did not move it too quickly. Just with the basic tests he did, it left me feeling crappy (full feeling in head, pressure in head, and slight queasiness). I had to come home and lay down for a few hours.
And I was not feeling great the next day, as well. I am scheduled in 2 weeks for a 2-hour balance test exam. The tests include Posturography, Rotary Chair, and a V/Electronystagography. I am worried I will not be able to handle these tests, especially 2 hrs of it. I am concerned it will really set me back. Has anyone had these tests, and if you had a problem, with them, did the therapist have to stop during test ?
I am 2 1/2 yrs post concussion, and also with an upper cervical injury, from hitting my head on black ice. I've had vision therapy, among other treatments. Currently still seeing my upper cervical chiro, and myofascial therapy. I'm healing on some levels, but progress is still slow.
Current symptoms are pressure in head from over exertion (walking is about the exercise I can handle) or stress , sensitivity to light/noise (at times), fullness in head, neck gets locked up feeling if over stressed, and fatigue if I over do it.
I can't get on a treadmill or elliptical trainer without getting fullness in head, pressure.. I am anticipating the balance tests will bring on the same feelings..
And just don't want to do any further damage.
Can vestibular therapy help relieve pressure in the head ???
Thank you for any input, and for all the helpful posts on this forum. It has helped me a lot, and has been a great source for information.
