The National Parkinsons Foundation has an awareness program designed to assist PD patients when they are hospitalized. You can order these kits that contain an ID bracelet to let others know that you have PD. This should signal the care provider that you are usually on medications that interact with many commonly administered treatments when in the hospital or when treated elsewhere. It should also alert those treating you that you must get your pills on time.

Note that I used the word "usually" in what should happen when you are identified as a person with PD. it is the patients' responsibility to prepare in advance for such times. That's the reason for the kits. It's a fantastic benefit we should all take advantage of. Click on this link for more info:
