I am so confused about my PN. Supposedly my hypothyroid is the cause of my PN. When I first got on meds I had multiple symptoms, all of which went away except for the burning.
Last week after I upped the dose of medication the burning went away...for about 5 days, only to return with a vengence.
It seems odd to me that burning is my ONLY pn symptom.
Is that odd? Is it normal??? Most folks here talk of more than one symptom.
I feel like I take 1 step forward and 2 steps back, but everything revolves around burning. Benfotiamine was a miracle a year ago, controlled the burning, then wore off, same as thyroid meds.
This seems strange to me and has me wondering if I am stupid to believe this is thyroid. It actually has me so confused I don't know what to think or do anymore.
Anyone else have only burning?

Hi, I am new to this forum but felt I needed to let you know that Peripheral neuropathy, usually no matter the "cause", can manifest itself with just one symptom, especially in the beginning. As for the possible reason that you had some relief for awhile when you took the thyroid medications, it is most likely because the peripheral neuropathy is permanent but is believed to caused by your thyroid disorder.
Thank you,
Chrissy
