Welcome to Neuro Talk. Many here have those feelings when pain becomes unbearable. Many have written post about their doctors not listening to them when their pain is extreme. This leads to a sorrow that does not leave.. This site that you found, can help you get through it. Pain does funny things to people, it makes us weak and hopeless. The best thing you can do is find that doctor who does have empathy and compassion. It took me years to find the team I have now. The VA hospitals are changing for the better. I think the worst part is when someone has power to make you feel better, or tells you it is all in your head. In that case, wave bye bye, and seek another out, even if you have to go to the VA patient advocacy person at the VA, and tell them you are not getting the help you need. You will find support right here. Maybe you will make a friend or two. I came here in a state of fear, and got through my issues with the help of the people I met here. I just never left. Please don't give up. Help with pain can be found. Sometimes it takes a fight to get the help. I hope a lot of folks respond to you and offer some suggestions. The VA here in St. Petersburg Florida, is wonderful. I take a friend of mine up there on a regular basis. Bring a person with you when you go in. Sometimes doctors will listen more when someone else is present and backs you up.
I hope you fight to get you life back, so that there is hope again for a decent existence. I am here anytime to listen. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. ginnie
