It sounds like the vet is basically warning you about how the eye looks, so you don't get scared, but also sayign that things look promising for Wendy even if it will take some time for her to get healed up.

Excellent about the eating and drinking! That means Wendy is really bouncing back, even with her eye temporarily out of commission!
