Hello and welcome to Neuro Talk. As long as your films say mild or moderate in the language this may be helped with physical therapy. When the cord is being pinched or pressed upon by herniation, that is where you get into trouble. I have had surgery, and also have this kind of condition. I actually do these excersises at home that I learned while in PT. If you stay with it, it may start to reduce the pain. Don't engage in therapies involving chiropractic manipulations. Only do this if a neurologist clears you. You don't want to make the condition worse.
Have you had an MRI? This is a better way to really see if the cord is being hurt. Much more detailed than just x-rays. Please seek a second opinion with a neurologist, he may have some ideas for you.
