Yes, I get spasms in my intercostals. They suck.
Sometimes I can diminish them using various balls:
* Per Art Ando PT, laying face down on a small yamuna with my arm hanging over the side
* Per the same PT, laying face down across a melt roller, starting at the bottom of the sternum and moving up over time. Discussed here in the forums on other threads.
* Rubbing a yoga therapy ball, or tennis ball, or lacrosse ball, around the area.
Other stuff:
* Use my fingers. I press on the sore spots. Rub them. Press the ribs in.
* Stress aggravates them so anything that opposes that. I still like the Infinite Relaxation app voiced by Andrew Johnson and developed by Michael Schneider.
* Poor posture will increase their occurrence.
