Last year had cancer surgery. My surgeon wanted me to talk with oncologist about getting chemo. He was okay with my refusal; but wanted me to at least make an informed decision. I did as he suggested and went to see oncologist.

(FYI) I happen to have the one oncologist who did verify using chemo would most likely increase my PN symptoms.
