Default APOE Genetic Testing

I've recently been reading that variants in the APOE gene may pre-dispose one to long term problems following a concussion. I have found websites that offer testing for this gene, such as "athleticode" (although its not cheap). I realize it won't likely change the way my post-concussion syndrome is managed today, but after 2.5 years of suffering from PCS I am just dying to know WHY it has taken so long after one concussion. Basically, I am pretty sure I want to go ahead with the testing (a simple cheek swab you mail in), but before I do just thought I would check if anyone has experience or knowledge of this. Thanks friends!
