Yuck! Flooding!
I lived in an area that was subject to flash-flooding at one time. One year I had the back lawn submerged, with water nearly to the second step from my porch... a couple more inches and it would have been inside!
Roads were rivers and some were closed with cops directing traffic to make sure nobody tried to go in there.
It can be really scary!
