Hi Kevin,

Difficult question to answer because everyone is different and responds differently to medications. Your not getting adequate relief from gabapentin is a good example; while it only works for about a third of patients, it does work very well for some, and has made a difference in those folks' lives.

That said...

Nortriptyline and gabapentin, alone and in combination for neuropathic pain: a double-blind, randomised controlled crossover trial.
