Lightbulb

Torn ligaments/tendons may follow use of an antibiotic family, called the Fluoroquinolones. Up to a year later or more.
Cipro, Levaquin or Avelox.

We've had two male posters on NT who ruptured their bicep tendon after these antibiotics. (no strain is needed).
Typically the ruptures happen with weight bearing tendons, patellar and achilles.

Sorry about your mother, Bizi! Give her my regards for a swift recovery.
