Perhaps I have more energy.
During the day today / Wednesday, I seemed to have more energy than I usually do.
After work I stopped to buy material for soup.
Usually, I supervise hubby while he makes soup or dump the ingredients in the kitchen and tell him to make soup, letting him work out the details.
Tonight I shopped for what I needed:
~swiss chard
~kale
~onion
~mushrooms
~baby carrots (no chopping necessary)
~rotisserie chicken
When I got home I found a head of garlic in the fridge.
I gave hubby the chicken for tonight and tomorrow and said I wanted the bones for the soup.
I started the bones boiling in water while I prepared the other ingredients.
I "pre-boiled" the carrots in a large frying pan before adding them to the big pot. I do not know why I did that or if it was necessary. It felt helpful. Dunno why.
I sautéed the garlic and onion separately
I tossed the mushrooms in the frying pan with some oil for texture and dumped them into the boiling water.
Lastly, I cleaned and tore in to appropriate sizes pieces the kale and swiss chard.
Then I added salt and pepper.
For the finishing touch, Hubby squirted a half of a lemon over each bowl of soup. We both enjoyed the soup.
======
I cannot believe I cooked something that involved so much work.
I even cleaned up.
