Interesting.
When I had my PT for my tendon injury, they put an ICE pack on my thigh, after hooking up the electrodes for the IFc.... This allowed she said for high currents to be used without pain. And it seemed to work for me.
The only heat I use now is for GI spasms, and then only for 15 minutes or so. My chiro from years ago told me that heat will stimulate nerves, so if you have nerve pain, avoid it for any time over 10 minutes. Too much heat inflames nerves, she said.
And for me that has turned out to be correct and useful advice.
The secret is to use only in MODERATION.
