I had the shingles vaccine in 2008 and I got the shingles this week on the right side of my face! I went to 2 physician's yesterday and have a prescription medication to take! My gland is swollen on the right side and my right ear hurts from time to time! I am always on 30 mg. Kadian as a result of a work injury and multiple surgeries with complications. I have bilateral brachial plexathapy! I'm thinking being on the morphine derivative Kadian is helping to control the pain of the shingles! My recommendation is to get the vaccine for Shingles cause I'm hoping it will make for a milder case! Has anyone had shingles while on a pain medication even though I had the vaccine? Thanks for any suggestions!
