Hi Crystal,

I've read through your other posts thus far, and I'm glad not only that you found this place, but that you're already familiar with many of the concepts (for lack of being able to think of the right term at the moment) associated with chronic pain/illness—e.g. stages of grief, vicious cycle, isolation/stigmatization, et al.

As I've recently become aware (given your background/backstory, perhaps you are as well), you may not be too far off the mark.

Treat the Pain... Save a Heart
Good pain control can prevent angina, hyperlipidemia, and tachycardia.

Sudden, Unexpected Death in Chronic Pain Patients
Severe pain, independent of medical therapy, may cause sudden, unexpected death. Cardiac arrest is the cause, and practitioners need to know how to spot a high-risk patient.

I expect we'll read/write more of each other in forums/times to come.
