I do take some meds that I think cause dry mouth. That's a good point. I'm sure that's not helping my teeth. I have some sugar free gum, so I'll try that on the good side of my mouth. I don't know why I didn't share this in my original post.. I use something called XyliMelts to alleviate dry mouth from all the meds, which is way worse for me at night. They are terrific as they slowly melt in your mouth by adhering to your gums or teeth until they dissolve. I was skeptical at first whether or not they would work and stick as mentioned by my pharmacist but low and behold they work wonders and I don't even notice I have one in my mouth. They a slightly minty almost like a wedding mint and I love minty anything so that is good for me

worth a shot and much easier on your jaw than chewing gum. The down side is that they are kind of spendy at $8 box for 40 of them which last a month or a little more.
