Again, it wasn't a lock out of anything negative - Kimmy was just 'saving' it for Doc John. Kind of like keeping his plate in the microwave so his dinner stays warm until he gets home!

The decision to lock a civil thread because it
might get heated and you want to save it in its current state smells very bad to me...in fact, despite it having been done with a friendly and polite explanation, it is just plain censorship. There is a good book about exactly that type of thing...

Another way of doing it might have been to say that you are thinking of closing this thread because of <name your favorite reason> which would have given people a chance to respond. You didn't and so they couldn't...
Forums live by discussions, talks, change...you do know that "food" kept for somebody goes stale quickly...and Yesterdays threads, especially the ones not allowed to evolve, go stale extremely quickly and, like old food, they leave a bad taste.
