Hi Janet,

Sorry that you are going through a rough patch.

I had a severe seizure in 2010 during a relapse when MS reared its ugly head after being in remission for over a year. It messed me up for a couple of days cognitively and when I managed to get into my doctor at first he thought that I had suffered a stroke. Apparently the seizure caused a spasm in my jaw that subluxated the TMJ and since then my jaw is offset by 1/4 of an inch. I also lost a muscle of mastication (masseter) on the inside of the cheek on the right side.

An MRI revealed a new active lesion at the base of the cerebral cortex that my MS neuro now believes is the cause of my ongoing symptoms; although the lesion did not show up on contrast in the last 2 MRIs. The neuro re-classified my MS as secondary progressive last year as a result.

I think that you should try to get an MRI because if your seizures are caused by a similar lesion, perhaps a course of steroids, if you tolerate them, will settle it down.

Sending prayers and well wishes that things turn around for you straight away .

With love, Erika
