Hi hlp,

I am in the dental profession and can offer you some information here.

Without question the root canaled tooth is infected and most likely the bacteria has spread into the bone. This situation is very typical of root canaled teeth. It is wise to discuss this tooth with the oral surgeon as he will be sure to take adequate x-rays to be able to diagnose both of your problems.

Please let us know how the appointment goes with the oral surgeon.

Then about a month ago i started getting scores in my mouth. At first i though it was thrush since i have RA and am on medicine that causes lowered immune system and have had it repeatly before. After being reated for that and it not clear up i went back to doctor who also found a polyp and is sending me to an oral surgyen. Waiting to be seen.

I was wondering if the sores and polyp could be from the tooth getting infected and me not knowing it. Any information or advice would be helpful.
