If you haven't yet, this might be a question for the
Traumatic Brain Injury and Post Concussion Syndrome forum.
In doing a quick goggle of
niacin post concussion syndrome a few hits come up from here (NT) and a few other places, but not a lot of detail/specifics.
I don't have time to run it down at the moment, but a perusal of
goggle scholar might yield something more definitive.
My wife takes niacin to lower bad cholesterol; it works as well/better than
statins (see link for recent discussion of statins here).
NB: Niacin flush can be avoided/countered/reduced by taking either one aspirin or 500 mg vitamin C ½ hr. before taking the niacin. Many people take niacin at bedtime/night; flush seems less noticeable during sleep.
