Default One other thing you might consider--

--is Central Pain Syndrome, also known as post-stroke pain or thalamic pain syndrome, which produces neuropathy like symptoms through damage to the thalamus or spinothalamic tracts of the brain and spinal cord (these are important relay centers for the processing of sensation)
