There is no Valerian as far as I can tell. It's homeopathic, using only flower essences. The only drawback so far is it doesn't necessarily last through the night for me. But the package states that if you wake up you can use it again -- all you do is spray your tongue!

For people who can't swallow pills this might be especially helpful.
