Sorry Sally, but in this case the nasties are chemicals that never lived...and should never be put on food. In the case of bananas, these chemicals are used heavily and persist in the peel as well as in the flesh of the fruit.

I think that boiling the whole fruit when it has been sprayed with this stuff is probably not a healthy thing to do. Organic bananas aren't that much more expensive, so why not go for those instead?
