Thanks for your patience and explanations. I'll try this exact stretch the next time I get the pulsing and see if it's my salvation or not.

I still get a lot of help from reaching across with the opposite hand and shoving the first rib down, close to the neck. I tilt the neck to create some slack in the scalenes. I hope that helps someone.
